Will Smith and David Beckham were pictured hanging out before Lionel Messi and Inter Miami opened the new MLS season on Wednesday night.

The Oscar-winning actor, 55, was pictured chatting to Miami co-owner and president Beckham before kickoff against Real Salt Lake in Florida.

Smith, who’s endured a quiet two-year stretch in his Hollywood career after he controversially slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, embraced the soccer icon for a picture.

Earlier, Beckham hopped into the hospitality suite being used by Messi’s family to hug the Argentine’s wife Antonela and father Jorge.

Messi’s sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro were also hanging out in the suite before their father embarked on his first full season in Major League Soccer.

Also in attendance was former NFL star Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson.

Robert Taylor scored the first goal of the MLS season, putting Inter Miami 1-0 ahead just before halftime with a low finish – although Salt Lake goalkeeper Zac MacMath should have done better.
