Great Britain’s four-time Olympic medallist Tom Daley made his return to diving after a two-year break from the sport at the British National Diving Cup on Thursday.
The 29-year-old stepped away after winning gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in the 10m platform event.
He combined with Noah Williams at the British National Diving Cup to win 10m Synchro gold.
“It is nice to be back and get that adrenaline going again,” Daley said.
“It felt really weird to come back, I felt quite shy in a way to get back into it, because I had been part of that team for so long, and then to step out and see how things had changed, it felt weird and different.
“But it is really nice to be back. I feel really happy, I’m enjoying it and that’s the main thing.”
Daley is the first Team GB diver to win four Olympic medals, with one gold and three bronze to his name.
He said recently that his goal is to compete at the 2024 Games in Paris.
Daley became a father for the second time to son Phoenix earlier this year and said he wants to “set an example” to his children by “working hard” to achieve what would be a record fifth Olympic Games appearance for a British diver.
