Since the release of the Netflix hit Baby Reindeer, another victim of the “real Martha Scott” has come forward to talk about her ordeal with the stalker and admitted that writer Richard Gadd got her “spot on”.
Gadd wrote and starred in the series after bringing his real-life experiences of being stalked and sexually abused to screens having previously telling the horror story on stage in a widely acclaimed one-man show.
The 34-year-old plays a fictionalised version of himself – Donny – who crossed paths with his soon-to-be stalker Martha Scott (played by Jessica Gunning) after offering her a cup of tea, and eventually giving her a glass of coke on the house.
The events which followed saw Martha fall in love with Donny and make up a false reality where they were in a relationship with one another – with Martha becoming obsessed and infiltrating every inch of his life.
Alongside the stalking from Martha, Donny was also sexually abused by a man he thought could help him get into the world of comedy – falling into the addiction of drugs and alcohol – and losing every good aspect of his life.
Following the release of the Netflix series, lawyer Laura Wray has detailed her own experiences with “Martha” and admitted that Gadd had fictionalised her “spot on”.

With the series bringing back memories, Wray told the Daily Mail: “It brought so many things back to me that I’d forgotten. She did the same to me and made my life a nightmare. He has got her spot-on. His reaction was exactly the same as mine. I felt sorry for her.
“She told me a real hard-luck story about how she had no family support and how she got her law degree and was looking for a traineeship, but nobody would give her one. I had my reservations.
“She was terribly upfront, telling me all this very personal stuff. Before we even met, she sent me a postcard congratulating me on my engagement to Jimmy. But basically, I felt sorry for her.”
Wray went on to say that she eventually asked “Martha” to leave after she was rude at work, hit another member of staff with a book and had been recommending other solicitors to potential clients while manning the phones.

Touching on the moment she decided to fire her, Wray explained: “I fired her after a week. She was furious and threatened that she’d do this, that and the other to me… She started shouting, ‘Jimmy Wray will rue the day’.
“Some of the girls in the office were shaking and upset and thought she was going to attack me or some of the other staff. Eventually, she was escorted out, still calling me vile names, and was later spotted circling the office in her car.”
Like the series, “Martha” then began following Wray into her lectures, and left threatening voicemails and emails, which comprised of death threats against Wray’s late husband, MP Jimmy Wray.
“Martha” also reported the couple to social services regarding their severely disabled son, Frankie, with social workers later visiting their property.

Wray explained that her stalker claimed the couple were hitting their son and was forced to explain his whole medical background to prove they were not abusing their child.
During the series, Wray’s story is alluded to when Gadd’s character researches “Martha” and finds a news story where she “targets barrister’s deaf child,” and luckily for the family, they were soon granted a restraining order.
The “real Martha” has shared her own perspective of the series and recently told the Daily Record: “I’m the victim here, not Richard Gadd.
“I’ve had death threats as a result of his show despite the fact that a lot of the things he claimed are just not true. Someone online said, ‘If I find you I will kill you’.
“A guy in North Carolina said that he and other people were going to stalk me like I am supposed to have stalked Gadd. I got two hours of sleep last night. I thought, ‘What if his supporters really do things like that?’.”
