The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal has said that a role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer saved him from being homeless.
The actor had a brief role on the iconic series back in the fourth season premiere ‘The Freshman’ in 2000.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the 2024 SAG Awards in February, Pascal discussed how his brief appearance as Eddie affected his life.

“My entry level lasted about 15 years,” he said. “And we’re talking about [not] being able to see a doctor, getting sick, getting a surgery, paying my rent when I had less than seven dollars in my account.”
“A residual from Buffy the Vampire Slayer showed up and saved the day,” Pascal continued, adding that that cheque was “the reason I was able to stay in [Hollywood] and not give up”.
Since that Buffy appearance, Pascal’s star has been on the rise.
As well as The Last of Us’s second season, Pascal’s other upcoming projects include the recently announced Eddington, alongside Emma Stone, Austin Butler and more.

He’s also attached to co-star with Chris Hemsworth in heist thriller Crime 101, as well as a romantic comedy with Chris Evans titled Materialists.
Pascal will return to The Last of Us’s second season alongside Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, offering an update on production at the SAG Awards.
“Filming is going amazing,” he said, following his award win. “It’s sort of awe-inspiring the kind of focus and dedication that everyone has going into season 2.”
The Last of Us airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK.
