Tributes have flooded in for beloved talkSPORT commentator Russell Hargreaves, who has died at the age of 45.
The radio station announced the father-of-three’s passing this afternoon in a heartfelt message on social media in which they share their devastation at the loss of a ‘much loved friend and colleague.’
‘We’re deeply saddened to tell you that Russell Hargreaves has passed away.’ The statement on X, formerly Twitter, read. ‘Russ was a talented commentator, news reader and reporter for our network. But he was much more than that. A much loved friend and colleague to so many. We’re devastated by his passing. RIP, Russ.’
Hargreaves was a talkSPORT commentator for more than ten years, covering golf, football and his passion rugby.
The Rugby Union Writers’ Club were quick to pay tribute to Hargreaves, saying that his ‘warmth and positivity’ will be sorely missed.
