  • Footage emerged with a fan who used a megaphone to distract the Reds’ stars
  • Liverpool lost to PSG on penalty shootout, while Alisson conceded all the strikes
  • LISTEN NOW: It’s All Kicking Off! With the Premier League likely securing five Champions League spots, are we rewarding mediocrity?

Liverpool fans were left infuriated to learn the new tactics Paris Saint-Germain supporters used during their Champions League clash on Tuesday.

Arne Slot’s side were unluckily eliminated from the most significant European tournament following a penalty shootout, which saw the Parisians qualify for the quarter-finals.

Ousmane Dembele scored the opening goal despite a strong start from Liverpool when Mohamed Salah missed an opportunity that Nuno Mendes blocked spectacularly.

Despite the Reds’ dominant display in the second half, they failed to equalise, and the match went to extra time and then to the penalty shootout round.

Shot-stopper Alisson conceded all strikes from Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Dembele and Desire Doue, ultimately leading to a 4-1 loss following Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones’ missed attempts.

However, several Liverpool fans were quick to take on social media to express their fury with the Parisians supporters’ tactics when someone from the stands was equipped with a megaphone, trying to distract Slot’s men.

The individual – captured on Amazon Prime Video’s broadcast – was spotted chanting PSG players’ names during and after the Reds’ stars penalty shots.

‘Monsieur Megaphone is guaranteed to be hailed a patron saint for PSG,’ jockingly wrote one fan.

A further one wondered: ‘Tell me how I can’t take a water bottle into the ground but this PSG fan in the front row got a flippin megaphone’

An infuriated supporter said: ‘Watched the game at work, how the f*** do we have stewards sitting people done when psg fans were climbing the f***ing walls and had a megaphone and a drum. What a load of b****cks’

‘Sksjdnfnfnjgjdjf one of the PSG ultras got a crazy megaphone right behind the goal and it’s killlllling me,’ one said, accompanying the post with multiple crying emojis.

‘That *** with the megaphone Half the stadium emptied when he first pressed the siren,’ a fan wrote, while a Bournemouth supporter added: I can’t take a coffee cup or umbrella into @afcbournemouth, but that french bloke gets a massive plastic megaphone into Anfield’

Liverpool will now turn their attention to domestic competitions, with the team sitting in first place in the Premier League table and also fighting for the Carabao cup.

Slot’s side are set to take on Newcastle at Wembley this Sunday in the final, while Trent Alexander-Arnold’s appearance is doubtful.

The academy product was forced off the pitch in the 73rd minute in what could be his late game in the Reds’ shirt in the Champions League.

PSG, meanwhile, have reached a stunning form through 2025, primarily due to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s arrival in Luis Enrique’s side during the January transfer window.

The Georgian’s move allowed the team to have a certain level of freedom in the attacking line, which could be the reason for Dembele’s emerging goalscoring capabilities in the last three months.

Overall, the former Barcelona star scored 29 goals and added six assists in 36 appearances this campaign.

Enrique’s band will face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with their opponent set to be decided on Wednesday.
