Sky is less than 120 days from pulling all of its live television channels from Sky+ boxes nationwide. If you’re still watching on one of these traditional set-top boxes in May, you’ll lose access to Sky Sports and Sky Cinema.

But if you’ve still got a Sky+ HD box under your telly in August — less than 120 days from now — you’ll lose access to every Sky TV channel. The details were shared in an update to Sky’s online Help pages.

The satellite dish affixed to the outside of your house will still work, so you could watch channels that aren’t provided by Sky or BBC on your trusty old Sky+ box. Thankfully, it’s possible to claim an upgrade to the newer Sky Q kit without any extra charges to your current subscription.

If you want to use the opportunity to switch to something new — the timing couldn’t be better.

That’s because GB News viewers can save £144 on a Sky Stream box with access to 150 live channels in High Definition (HD), 500 boxsets from HBO, Peacock, and Sky Originals, and a Netflix subscription.

As the name suggests, Sky Stream only needs a Wi-Fi network to stream channels unavailable on Freeview, pause and rewind live television, and binge the latest boxsets and films from Sky, HBO, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, and Netflix.

Sky has a packed catalogue of exclusive shows, including Chernobyl, House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, Game of Thrones, The Last Of Us, Euphoria and Succession, as well as original series Brassic, Gangs of London, and Rob and Romesh vs… In total, there are over 500 boxsets available to binge-watch on Sky Stream from the moment you plug-in the box.

Sky Stream is the latest generation of hardware from the satellite company and runs its new EntertainmentOS software, which is regularly updated with new features. Out of the box, this set-top box supports voice controls, 4K Ultra HD picture quality, and the biggest catch-up services like ITVX, BBC iPlayer, and Channel 4.

Sky Stream usually starts from £28 per month for an 18-month contract with 150+ live channels in HD and a Standard with Ads subscription from Netflix (worth £4.99 a month). That rises to £31 per month for a 31-day rolling contract, which offers the flexibility to switch between channel bundles (or cancel) every month.

But GB News viewers canCLICK HERE for a much better deal.

Using our exclusive link, you’ll be able to secure the exact same Sky Stream bundle just £23 per month. That lower monthly cost will be locked in for the duration of your 18-month contract.

There’s no upfront fee and no cost for next-day delivery. And since there’s no satellite dish, you won’t need to wait for an engineer — just plug-in the Sky Stream box, connect to Wi-Fi, and start watching immediately.

In total, you’ll spend £414 over the course of your contract. That’s £144 less than it would cost to watch Sky Stream with a 31-day rolling contract over the same period bought directly from the online Sky store.

Sky Stream is a small box that connects via ethernet or Wi-Fi to stream live television channels, over 10,000 hours of on-demand content, and streamers like Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV+, Paramount+, ITVX, BBC iPlayer, and Channel 4

Sky Stream is the latest addition to the Sky TV line-up. As the name suggests, everything is beamed over Wi-Fi so there’s no need for a satellite dish affixed to the outside of your home, although you will need a minimum speed of 25Mbps from your home broadband connection.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Without a dish, there’s no need to book an engineer appointment to get started with Sky Stream. Sky offers next-day delivery at no extra cost, so when the diddy box arrives through your letterbox, just plug it into a power outlet, connect to Wi-Fi or ethernet, and follow the prompts on-screen. That’s it.

With a redesigned remote control with backlit keys and voice controls, Sky Stream is a pretty worthy upgrade of Sky Q — let alone those switching from something even older, like Sky+ or Sky+ HD.

If you want to add Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, or 4K Ultra HD picture quality to your Sky Stream box, you can add all of these options at checkout.
