A Shetland pony stuck in a cattle grid after a walker left a gate open has been rescued by fire crews. Teifi the horse sparked a rescue operation on Tuesday after becoming trapped in Llangatwg, Powys, Wales. The 21-year-old Shetland pony was able to reach the cattle grid after a gate was left open by walkers. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Crickhowell, Talgarth and Pontardawe were called to the incident at 07:32 GMT. His owner, Beth Watkins, said Teifi was recovering well, and told the BBC he has has since become “quite the local celebrity”. Beth added: “An amazing rescue! Thank you so much for saving Teifi. You were all fantastic.”
