Doorbell video recorded the moment police fatally shot a man in Redditch on Christmas Eve, the victim’s family said.
Marcus Meade, 39, of Redditch, was pronounced dead at the address in Fownhope Close at around 8pm.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is investigating the shooting.
It said officers were called to the property at around 2pm following concerns for the welfare of the occupant — who was in possession of a knife — and negotiated for hours before officers forced entry to the property using distraction devices which generate loud bangs and flashes.
The IOPC added that at least one Taser was discharged, and a firearms officer fired a single shot which hit Mr Meade in the chest and he died at the scene a short time later.
IOPC Regional Director Derrick Campbell said: “We are working hard to piece together all the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident and we want to reassure the community that our investigation, which is still in its early stages, will be thorough and guided by the evidence we find.
