Hilarious moment Western United star Daniel Penha signs the FACE of a young A-League supporter – and the kid was following the Western Sydney Wanderers!

  • Western United star Daniel Penha is a born entertainer
  • Brazilian displayed his cheeky side after 3-1 win over Wanderers
  • Followed a man of match performance for John Aloisi’s team

A-League star Daniel Penha is a box office entertainer – and on Friday night at Commbank Stadium in Sydney he went above and beyond after signing the forehead of a rival fan.

Brazilian born Penha, 25 – on loan at Western United from Atlético Mineiro – tore the Western Sydney Wanderers to shreds.

He scored a goal and finished with two sublime assists – all within 12 minutes of the second half – as John Aloisi’s men look to move away from the bottom of the ladder.

And at the final whistle, Penha displayed his cheeky side, signing an autograph for an a eager fan who now may avoid having a shower for a few days.

The Brazilian ambled to the sideline with what appeared to be an iced tea where the young supporter made the unusual request for him to autograph his forehead.

The kicker? The fan was a Western Sydney Wanderers supporter, not a Western United fan.

It was just another act from Penha that endeared himself to Aussie fans.

‘Daniel is an asset to the league, no matter who he plays for. Loves the league, loves the fans, loves Australia,’ one fan posted.

‘Everyone loves Daniel Penha,’ added another.

While Penha’s display was warmly received by fans, the match itself lacked energy.

The Red and Black Bloc (RBB), the Wanderers’ active supporter group, boycotted the game after heavy-handed security and policing at the previous week’s 4-1 derby loss to Sydney FC and the ground lacked atmosphere as a result.

Aloisi didn’t care, as his team snared a valuable three points on the road, as they look to avoid the wooden spoon.

‘We got what we deserved…..and we deserved a lot more from a lot of other games this season,’ the former Socceroos striker said when reflecting on the 3-1 win.

‘We don’t know where we are going to end up, but all we can do is try and win every game that we have got left.’

Meanwhile, Marko Rudan’s Wanderers have suffered an alarming dip in form.

They have now won just one of their past six games, and face the prospect of their season imploding.

In contrast, cross-town rivals Sydney FC are flying, with their last defeat on January 13.
