- England host New Zealand in their final T20 match of the summer at Lord’s
- Heather Knight’s side go into Wednesday’s encounter with a 4-0 series lead
Heather Knight has called on England fans to turn up in their droves as they look to complete a T20 series whitewash over New Zealand at Lord’s on Wednesday night.
England go into that final encounter with an unassailable 4-0 lead in the best-of-five series.
It is their final match of the summer on home soil – with the main goal of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh just over two months away.
And England captain Knight hopes her rampant side will be backed by mass support as they look to end their series with the White Ferns and summer on a high.
‘It’s been a next level summer for us so far in terms of results and performances and it would be really great if we could end with a next level crowd at Lord’s,’ the 33-year-old said.

Knight, who alongside team-mates Lauren Bell, Sophia Dunkley, Sarah Glenn and Danni Wyatt have recently showcased their trickshots in a new film at Lord’s, continued: ‘It’s a big moment for us to play at Lord’s, it really feels special, and it will never not be exciting for us to play in front of so many people in a big stadium.
‘It adds something to the whole event and with it being our last home game before the World Cup it’s even bigger.
‘I get goosebumps just thinking about walking out there. Support for women’s sport across the country is at an all-time high, and we’re excited to hopefully continue that trend.’
England begin their T20 World Cup campaign against South Africa on October 3 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
