Shohei Ohtani has revealed the identity of his wife after the $700million Los Angeles Dodgers star suddenly announced he was married to a mystery woman last month.
Ohtani, who recently was handed the largest contract in sports history, posted a picture of his new partner on social media on Thursday.
He announced he’s married to Japanese basketball player Mamiko Tanaka.
Following news that the 29-year-old Japanese pitcher and designated hitter was off the market, reporters recently attempted to ask him for more information about his lover.
‘Shohei Ohtani said his wife is a “normal Japanese woman” (aka, not a fellow celebrity) who he has known for 3-4 years,’ tweeted Jack Harris, of The LA Times.
‘He didn’t say when they got married, but insisted the relationship had no bearing on his FA decision and that she was supportive of him signing with the Dodgers.’
