The Washington Commanders have reportedly acquired superstar offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil from the Houston Texans in another blockbuster trade for the team.
According to the NFL Network, the Commanders are sending a 2025 third-round draft pick and second and fourth-rounders in 2026 to Houston to acquire Tunsil, 30, and a fourth-round pick.
The five-time Pro Bowler was a first-round choice by the Miami Dolphins in 2016 but fully blossomed after being traded to the Texans ahead of the 2019 season.
In six seasons with Houston, the only year he wasn’t named to the Pro Bowl was 2021 – when thumb surgery cut his season short after five games.
Tunsil has made 125 starts in his nine-year NFL career and did not miss a game in 2024. He also has seven playoff starts to his name.
The Commanders, coming off their first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991, have added wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers as well as Tunsil via trades.

NFL fans have been left stunned by their latest high-profile addition, with one writing on X: ‘Yeah, Washington is getting better!’
‘GIANT trade,’ said another.
One Commanders supporter put: ‘HUGE MOVE! I love it!’
‘Oh Commanders ain’t playing,’ said a fourth.
While one simply posted: ‘goddamn’.
The Commanders have also tied down key members of their roster to new lucrative contracts this offseason as they look to build on last season’s shock run to the NFC Championship game.
Three-time All-Pro tight end Zach Ertz is re-signing with the team on a one-year, $6.25m contract which could reach $9m in incentives after revitalizing his career in Washington.

Ertz, 34, was a favorite target of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, in the 2024 season as Washington enjoyed an unlikely postseason run.
Reports of Ertz’s new contract came a few days after veteran middle linebacker Bobby Wagner agreed a new one-year deal in Washington.
Set to turn 35 this summer, Wagner led the Commanders with 132 tackles during the regular season and was named to his 10th Pro Bowl. He made 25 more during their playoff run as the centerpiece of a much-improved defense.
However, reports suggest defensive tackle Jonathan Allen is being released by the team ahead of the 2025 season.
