Zara Tindall kicked off 2025 with a family day out at Cheltenham Racecourse, accompanied by her three-year-old son Lucas and the rest of her family.

The Olympic equestrian, 43, was spotted holding hands with her youngest child as they arrived at the historic venue for the New Year’s Day racing events.

The outing comes after Zara’s appearance at the Christmas Day service at Sandringham last week, where she attended alongside her husband Mike and their other children.

The three-year-old remained absent as he is thought to be too young to join the rest of the Royal Family.

Princess Anne’s daughter braved the stormy conditions in a sophisticated navy pinstripe suit paired with a burgundy turtleneck jumper.

The family gathering included all three Tindall children – Lucas, three, Lena, six, and Mia, 10 – who joined their parents for the seven races scheduled throughout the afternoon.

Young Lucas put on an animated display during the family outing, dressed in a black zip-up coat, trousers and white trainers.

The three-year-old showed his enthusiasm for horse racing, excitedly cheering from the stands while clutching a piece of bread as a snack.

However, the stormy weather appeared to dampen his spirits at times, with the toddler visibly frustrated by the rainy and windy conditions.

The playful youngster was also spotted swinging around while holding onto handlebars as he watched the races unfold.

His mother’s passion for equestrian sports seems to have influenced the youngest Tindall, as he remained highly engaged in the racing action throughout the afternoon.

Mike and Zara Tindall displayed affection throughout the day, with the former rugby star, 46, lovingly kissing his wife’s cheek as they posed for cameras.

Mike coordinated with his wife’s outfit, wearing a brown suit jacket with a matching burgundy tie.

Zara completed her elegant look with a crocodile print Loxley bag from Fairfax & Favor worth £345, a burgundy headband, chunky gold earrings and brown leather gloves.

Their daughters were equally well-dressed, with Mia wearing a black dress decorated with white bows and silver earrings, while Lena sported a beige high-neck dress.

Zara’s brother Peter Phillips, 47, attended in a long black woolen coat with upturned collar, accompanied by his partner Harriet, 44, who stood out in a bright yellow wide-brimmed hat and houndstooth coat.

The NHS paediatric nurse was seen consulting the racing programme while enjoying a drink.
