In a rematch 43 years in the making, the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees didn’t fail to deliver on the World Series blockbuster billing.

Freddie Freeman drew first blood for the Dodgers with a walk-off Grand Slam in a dramatic ending to a thrilling World Series curtain raiser. 

The two titans of MLB set the stage for a World Series showdown Friday night as the Yankees and the Dodgers went blow for blow throughout ten tense innings of Game 1 in Los Angeles. 

Nestor Cortes took to the mound in the tenth inning and walked Mookie Betts to face Freeman but the move backfired on the Yankees as the first baseman broke hearts across the Big Apple.
