  • Rey Mysterio has been involved with WWE since his first appearance in 2002
  • The 49-year-old last competed at WWE Crown Jewel where he lost to Logan Paul
  • He joins his son Dominik, who has also penned a new contract with the company

Rey Mysterio has reportedly signed a new contract with WWE, joining his son Dominik in committing his future to the company.

The Hall of Famer is currently out with a knee injury, having last competed at the WWE Crown Jewel where he lost United States Championship to Logan Paul.

Mysterio, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April this year, has been a fixture of WWE since 2002, albeit with brief spells away from the company.

According to F4W Online, the 49-year-old has re-upped on his deal that sees him join his son Dominik in committing to WWE.

Dominik has been reported to have penned a contract that will keep him with the company until 2028, with the agreement believed to have taken place a month or so ago despite reports only surfacing this week.

The 26-year-old is a two-time NXT North American Champion and most recently featured at NXT Deadline earlier this month.

His dad appeared as a guest commentator at the December 5 event and watched on as Dominik lost his title to Dragon Lee.

The father and son combo teamed up in 2018 until Dominik turned on Rey in the summer of 2022, leading to a match at WrestleMania this year that Rey won.

The older Mysterio is expected to be sidelined for a further few months following successful knee surgery in November.
