On 31 December, 2025, Saudi Arabia launched its largest theme park – which now hosts the world’s tallest and fastest roller coaster.

Six Flags Qiddiya City, located in an entertainment zone near Riyadh’s Tuwaiq Mountains, opened on New Year’s Eve, marking the first Six Flags park outside North America.

The $1 billion theme park is the first operational component of Qiddiya City, which aims to become a global hub for play, sports, entertainment and culture, as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan to boost tourism.

Alongside its new Six Flags park, the city will grow to include a water park named Aquarabia, a Dragon Ball theme park, motorsports venues, and more, with phased openings.

By 2030, when additional phases of the project are completed, an estimated 85,000 jobs will have been created, while the projected GDP contribution is expected to reach SR 44 billion (£8.72bn/$11.73bn).

Thrill-seekers visiting Six Flags Qiddiya City will discover six unique worlds within the park that each tell their own special story.

Spread across each immersive world are 28 rides and attractions – including five record-breaking rides – as well as ten exciting games, and 18 family experiences.

The City of Thrills is designed for adrenaline junkies, boasting four rides and attractions with sky-high drops and heart-pounding bends, along with two dining and three shopping spaces.

Here, visitors can take on the world’s largest, longest and fastest rollercoaster: Falcon’s Flight.

With a height of 195 metres (over 600 feet) and reaching speeds of 155 mph (250 km/h), the ride will no doubt be one of the park’s key attractions – for those brave enough to hop on.

Discovery Springs, meanwhile, offers a family-friendly aquatic oasis with wild water rides, a lazy drift alongside sea life and relaxing beaches. It features six rides and attractions, three dining options and two shopping areas.

The Grand Exposition merges history and innovation, showcasing recreations of global wonders and iconic world fairs through exhibits and performances.

The area includes five rides and attractions – including the world’s tallest pendulum ride, Gyrospin, which stands at 53 metres – as well as four dining and four shopping options.

For those into whimsical thrills with a focus on gears and contraptions, Steam Town is a rustic land envisioned by Professor Screamore, featuring six dining spots, five shopping points, and five rides and attractions – including the world’s tallest tilt-coaster.

Iron Rattler boasts a record-breaking height of 63.4 metres and a speed of 118 kilometres per hour, as reported by Time Out Riyadh.

Visitors can step into an enchanting playground at Twilight Gardens, designed specifically for children.
