Two teenagers have been arrested over a suspected drug deal attempted outside a school, police said.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) neighbourhood officers said they saw an incident outside a primary school in Scholes, Wigan on Wednesday.

When officers searched an address they found a large amount of crack cocaine and heroin, and hundreds of pounds in cash.

A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy, from Merseyside, have been arrested on possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Posting on the GMP Wigan West Facebook page, external, officers said: “If there is one thing that boils our blood it is attempting to deal drugs in front of a local primary school.

“We know who you are, where you are, and yesterday you found out when neighbourhood officers from Scholes and Ince came through your door.”

Police said an eviction notice has been sent to the person living at the address.
