When Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan returned to the spotlight at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, it was dubbed ‘an iconic comeback’ by style commentators.
The 38-year-old actress appeared at the Balenciaga show in a black sequined gown, leather jacket and a ponytail — but what surprised fans most was her face.
Some suggested that the troubled star’s new found sobriety was the reason behind the refreshed and rejuvenated look.
Lohan, who gave birth to her first child, a son named Luai, in July last year is sober after stints in and out of rehab and multiple run ins with the law.
Others suspected there had been help for the surgeon’s scalpel: ‘These pics don’t even look like her. She is beautiful but this isn’t her face,’ one fan quipped on Reddit.

Fans noticed that the star’s face is more defined than her previous public appearances
Her miraculous transformation has sparked controversy online as fans debate how she now looks so much younger.
Fans speculated that it may have been her sobrierty that has caused her transformation after years in an out of rehab and legal troubles.
Now, in a viral video posted to TikTok, cosmetic treatment expert Dr Johnny Betteridge has given his verdict on the drastic work that she has likely had done.
The Botox and filler guru, based in the UK, explained how she had previously suffered from badly done injectables.
‘Look at her face from over a decade ago, we can see signs of over-filling. Predominantly in the cheeks and lips, and see how her nose is broader and less defined,’ says Dr Betteridge.

‘Fast forward a few years and she has the characteristic features of over-filling where her face looks puffy and has a uniformed look.’
Dr Betteridge then exposed how she has completely changed her appearance.
‘This is what good surgical and non-surgical work looks like,’ says the TikTok doctor.
‘Alot would have gone into this look. There would be some degree of weight loss, dissolving the fillers and then having them done more precisely probably in the mid face, cheeks and lips,’ he explains.

‘From a surgical perspective it looks like she has had an upper blepharoplasty’, a procedure that reconstructs the upper eye lid.
The doctor says you can tell as ‘her eyes are more open and there is less skin laxity in this area. Her nose is much sharper and more defined than from a rhinoplasty.’
Despite having more work done he says ‘her face has a more natural look to it than it did a few years ago.’
The clip, which has had over 100,000 views, has divided fans. ‘God she looks tremendous!!!! So happy for her,’ said one.
Others were less impressed. ‘I’m glad she’s happy and healthy but a metric fuckton of surgery is not aging like fine wine,’ commented a Reddit user on another picture of the star’s transformation.

Cosmetic surgeon Matthew Schulman also told Forbes magazine that Lohan’s altered appearance was clearly the result of some cosmetic procedures.
‘I don’t think it’s any secret that Lindsay’s had some stuff done. Clearly, she’s had some lip augmentation.
‘Her skin looks much smoother and lighter, so maybe some Botox and fillers in her cheeks, which is why her cheeks look fuller,’ says Shulman.
The transformation comes as she sets to make her return to the screen Freak Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, which will hit theaters next year.
In an interview with Allure the former child star said she thinks that it is funny that people think she is ageing in reverse.
She batted off suggestions that she had work done, saying ‘I just take care of my skin.’
