Jacob Rees-Mogg is set to star in a five-part docu-series which will give a glimpse into his private life and family, as well as his career as an MP prior to the General Election.

The documentary will provide a never-before-seen look into his life at home in the 17th Century Somerset house where he lives with his wife and six children.

The Discovery+ series will follow Rees-Mogg through the run up to the election and the aftermath that followed.

It is set to drop later this year will give viewers insight into the political figure who divides opinion.

The programme will also look into his life as a husband and father at home.

The 55-year-old joked: “Animals, children, an election and a film crew. What could possibly go wrong?

“This everyday story of Somerset folk is fun to film but may be a bit more Fawlty Towers than Downton Abbey.”

While he’s no longer an MP, Rees-Mogg still has a lot to say about the political sphere, recently telling GB News there is a “close link” between Sir Tony Blair and the new Labour government.

Television company Optomen, which produced hits such as Gordon Ramsay’s The F-Word, is behind the upcoming show.

Filming is under way for Meet the Rees-Moggs, but the specific content remains very much under wraps for now.

The news comes following rumours Rees-Mogg had plans to return to the public eye as a reality star.

The former cabinet minster had been among the biggest names in the Tory party before Labour overturned his majority.

Rees-Mogg lost his Somerset North East and Hanham seat to Dan Norris by more than 5,000 votes.

He won’t be the only focus on the show though, with wife Helena also appearing in the series as well as their six children: Mary, Peter, Thomas, Anselm, Alfred and Sixtus.

The concept and title seem to be a nod at US reality favourite Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

A source recently told The Sun: “They have been filming for a few months but no one expected the election to be announced.

“It was gold for the show, however, and gave a real insight into what family life is like for working MPs.”
