A positive outlook is essential if you’re embarking on a weight loss journey. According to one expert, shifting your mindset from scarcity to abundance is crucial.

A fitness coach who specialises in women’s body recomposition shared the “psychology hack that makes it a million times easier to stick to a diet”.

Jenna Rizzo (@jennaaaamariee on TikTok) took to the sharing platform to offer a top weight loss tip.

Jenna revealed that when she first started her fitness journey, she “tried every diet under the sun”. And while she was able to stick to them throughout the week, she faltered at the weekends.

The expert advised adopting an abundance mindset when it comes to food

She said: “Once Saturday hit, I would have a ‘cheat meal’, which led to a full-on binge.

“I remember one Saturday I started with a ‘cheat meal’ for brunch and I literally had two starters, a pizza a couple of hours later, and then I finished the day with an entire pint of ice cream.

“What was happening was my brain was telling me I needed to keep eating these foods because they were so limited and I wasn’t going to be able to eat them again.”

The now weight loss expert admitted that she was guilty of having a “scarcity mindset”, which resulted in her overeating at the weekends.

Offering advice for slimmers who struggle with “uncontrollable cravings”, Jenna suggested making the conscious shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset.

She recommended taking a pen and paper and writing down all the things you can add to your healthy, weight-loss-friendly diet.

“So what can you add more of?”, she asked. “You can add more protein, more fruits, more vegetables, more fibre.”

By doing this, slimmers can focus their attention on all the delicious – yet healthy – foods at their disposal.
