If you’re looking to incorporate more eggs into your diet there are so many ways you can do this.

From scrambled on whole-grain toast to boiled and chopped into a salad to a tasty omelette, the possibilities for enjoying eggs are endless.

Poppy added that eggs are an excellent protein source with all nine essential amino acids, making them a complete protein. This means they are great for building muscle.

They are protein-packed, with one egg containing between 5.2g and 7.5g of protein depending on its size.

Eggs are also extremely low in calories. Indeed, a small egg is around 54 calories; a medium egg, around 66 calories; and a large egg, around 78 calories.

An article entitled ‘Egg breakfast enhances weight loss’ published in the National Library of Medicine found that eating eggs for breakfast is more beneficial than eating a bagel breakfast with the same energy density and total energy.

Experts said: “The egg breakfast enhances weight loss, when combined with an energy-deficit diet, but does not induce weight loss in a free-living condition. The inclusion of eggs in a weight management program may offer a nutritious supplement to enhance weight loss.”
