Virgin Media O2 is set to relocate its Manchester office and bring 1,500 employees into the city centre.

The telecoms giant has agreed a ten-year lease to move customer service staff from their current base in Wythenshawe to a new building on John Dalton Street.

Virgin will occupy about 50% of the new office after reaching a deal with private firm HBD and the Greater Manchester Pensions Fund, who built the site.

Patricia Cobian from the company said the building was designed to be a net-zero carbon workspace and its “enviable environmental credentials and excellent transport links” had proven a major draw.
