The transfer market is beginning to heat up as we enter the final stretch of the January window, with clubs facing a race against time to bring in reinforcements.
It has thus far been a comparatively low-key window, with Jordan Henderson’s Saudi Pro League U-turn perhaps the story so far, as the ex-Liverpool skipper returns to European football.
Jadon Sancho has also left Manchester United for Borussia Dortmund on loan, while Brighton sealed the signing of highly-though-of Argentinian wonderkid Valentin Barco from Boca Juniors for £8million.
However a number of clubs are still targeting new faces to strengthen their fortunes ahead of the run-in, with divisions like the Premier League still as tight as ever at both ends of the table.

Manchester United are looking to offer out both Jason Sancho and Antony to Saudi Pro League clubs for £50million each. The two forwards have struggled to make their impression at Old Trafford since arriving for a combined £158.5m. (Evening Standard).
West Ham’s move for Chelsea forward Armando Broja is reportedly off after a collapse in talks. The Blues’ asking price of £50m is thought to be too high for the Hammers, although they are believed to still be after a forward. (Football Insider).
Lyon are attempting to bring former forward Karim Benzema back to the club where it all started. While the club are in talks with the Ballon d’Or winner, the finances in any potential deal are believed to be a potential hurdle. (The Guardian).

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been issued a warning from Nice over interest in centre back Jean-Clair Todibo. The French defender has drawn widespread admiration, but the club’s sporting director insisted that the player is not for sale in January. (90min).
