The One Show descends into chaos as guest swears twice live on air forcing host Alex Jones to apologise

The One Show’s latest episode descended into chaos after Alex Jones suffered a wardrobe malfunction and one guest swore multiple times live on air.

The Welsh presenter was hosting Wednesday evening’s show alongside Vernon Kay when her earring suddenly dropped to the studio floor.

“My earring just fell out, sorry,” Jones informed viewers, as Kay quickly retrieved the fallen jewellery for his co-presenter.

Whilst maintaining their professionalism the pair smoothly transitioned to Watchdog host Matt Allwight for the latest headlines.

Once over their little interruption, the show was then forced into further chaos when actress Toni Collette demonstrated her toaster impression to studio guests.

Before performing the impression, Collette exclaimed: “S**t I can’t believe I’m doing this,” before diving her head into her hands. The hosts promptly apologised for her language.

The actress then accidentally repeated the same expletive, causing fellow guests Ant McPartlin, Declan Donnelly and Naomi Ackie to burst into laughter.

Collette blamed jet lag for her colourful language, leaving viewers entertained, as one fan wrote on X: “Toni Collette swearing twice is magic!”

“Toni Collette! 2 s**ts in a minute,” another laughed while a third quipped: “You’re terrible, Muriel!”

Someone else penned: “I love Toni Collette! She has no filter and literally doesn’t care that she has just sworn twice before the watershed! What a woman!”

“Anyone else peeing at Toni Collette swearing!” another fan laughed before someone else added: “Well that’s made my night! Thanks Toni Collette!”

The chaotic moments follow David Walliams’ appearance on Tuesday’s show, where he left Jones speechless with comments about Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

“I was at school with Keir Starmer,” Walliams joked. “And he gave me a detention and it was Christmas time and it was really cold and he turned off the heating.”

The joke referenced Starmer’s government making cuts to the winter fuel allowance, which sparked outrage last year.

The Little Britain star later admitted: “I did go to the same school as Keir Starmer, but actually, we didn’t meet each other.”

He added playfully: “And Fatboy Slim was there too… He was doing the DJing and Keir was being the Prime Minister, I was acting the giddy goat!”

Walliams himself has been outspoken about cancel culture in the past, with the comic having been axed from the Britain’s Got Talent judging panel after comments he made on the show in 2020 came to light.

He and Lucas also fronted Little Britain, which aired from 2003 to 2006, and many have argued wouldn’t make it to screens now due to its controversial jokes.
