As the seasons change and more festive months approach, many people might be looking to refresh their homes.

For those attempting to declutter and re-organise, it seems all they will need is a suitcase.

One holiday-inspired hack has been shared by Robin Antill from 1st Choice Leisure Buildings.

He told the Express about the ‘suitcase swap’ hack he uses to keep his clothes in order.

As the colder weather begins, summer clothing will be used less and less, but Robin has advised exactly what to do with it.

Instead of having a packed wardrobe with items that won’t be worn until spring, he recommends putting them in a suitcase for now.

Robin told the publication: ‘Fold clothes into a suitcase, zip it shut, and keep it under the bed or on top of your wardrobe.

‘When spring comes around, opening that suitcase will feel like discovering a shop full of your own items, packed with different fabrics after months of knitwear.’

He explained how the hack frees up more space for winter clothing.

‘This trick frees up space instantly, transforms a chore into a ritual you will continue to use twice a year, and will avoid the dreaded ‘wardrobe squeeze’ completely.’

Meanwhile, for those who plan to use their suitcase during their travels, one airline worker shared a hack to help passengers get their luggage first off the plane.

Taking to Quora, the staffer, who works at a regional US airport, explained how being one of the last to drop your bags off is key.

He said: ‘Bags will always be loaded front to back on the bag carts so if you check in last your bags will be in the last bag cart.’

This method could be considered risky though, as you run the chance of accidentally missing your flight’s check-in closing time.

But another tip is to ask the check-in or bag-drop agent to tag your bag with a priority or fragile sticker.

Bags identified as fragile are often loaded last, and on top of other bags. They’re also usually the first to be removed after landing.

Meanwhile, content creator Chantel Mila previously advised travellers to pack in a certain way to save space, and demonstrated by stacking her clothes in a suitcase.

‘Fit more clothes in your suitcase by packing it vertically,’ Chantel explained.

Sometimes travelling, especially long-haul journeys, can mean clothes stuck inside a case for a while can seem musty.

Chantel shared her tip for keeping them ‘smelling fresh’ and advised placing ‘essential oil on cotton balls’ inside luggage.
