One person is missing after a small boat capsized in the River Thames this morning, police have said.

The vessel, thought to have been carrying six people, tipped over into the water at Sunbury Lock, near Wheatleys Eyot in Walton-on-Thames – just outside London to the southwest.

Surrey Police has confirmed five of the people involved in the incident have been “safely located”.

The force added that it, alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Fire and Rescue, are involved in the search effort.
