Tesco has warned customers that “time is running out” on their Clubcard vouchers as almost 17 million are due to expire.

As summer approaches, customers are urged to shop in store and use their points.

The £16.9milion of vouchers, have been valid for two years and need to be used by midnight on May 31.

The expiring Clubcard vouchers can be used towards the cost of the weekly shop, to pay for fuel or to pick up a great new deal with Tesco Mobile.

But customers can get even more and unlock extra value by exchanging the vouchers for 2x their value with 100+ Clubcard Reward Partners including PizzaExpress, Alton Towers Resort and Hotels.com.

Tesco has revealed more than £27million expiring codes for Clubcard Reward Partners need to be used over the next six weeks.

This includes more than £16million worth of rewards for days out and eating out.

Tesco has emailed customers with reminders and is also encouraging customers to use the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app to check to see if any of their vouchers or reward codes are set to expire.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco chief commercial officer, said: “People across the UK will be looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekends in May and thinking about how they can make the most of them.

“Tesco Clubcard holders can use the power of Clubcard to unlock all sorts of Bank Holiday fun, from saving on their shopping when they pick up their BBQ food, or to exchanging for 2x value with 100-plus Reward Partners, offering everything from fun days out for the family to meals out at some of the UK’s most-popular restaurant chains.

“With millions of vouchers expiring at the end of this month, we are urging everyone to make the most of their Clubcard this May and check to see if any vouchers or reward codes are expiring.”

Clubcard vouchers are just one way that Clubcard delivers great value for Tesco customers.

Tesco customers can take advantage of a vast range of deals as there are around 8,000 Clubcard Prices offers each week.

Shoppers can also save up to £360 a year on everything from clothing and homeware to food and household products with Clubcard Prices.

Martin Lewis, the money saving expert has also explained a clever trick that could see Tesco shoppers get up to £50 in bonus Clubcard points on his website.

The supermarket giant is testing out a new “Clubcard Challenges” scheme, where customers are tasked with completing certain challenges to earn extra points.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Some of these tasks might include “spend £20 on our Summer barbecue range over the next six weeks” or “spend £10 on plant-based meals”.

If selected for the promotion, people will be presented with 20 challenges, but only need to complete 10 to secure the maximum £50 worth of additional Clubcard points.

The scheme kicks off on May 20 and will last for six weeks.

Moneysavingexpert.com advises customers to keep an eye on their emails and the Tesco app to see if they’ve been chosen to participate.
