A man has died after being shot dead by police following an attempted negotiation.
Emergency services attended an address in Weston Green, Dagenham at 8pm last night, Thursday, November 23.
The man, who has not been named, called the Met Police around 8pm last night to tell them that he wanted to take his own life.
He also informed officers that he was in possession of a collection of loaded firearms.

Upon arrival, officers tried to talk to the man who was believed to be in his 40s.
Officers said they wanted to ‘bring the incident to a safe conclusion’.

Despite best attempts by emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at 9.30pm. An investigation into the incident has now been launched by the Met Police.
Investigators have already confirmed that a non-police firearm was found at the scene.
Following a search, nobody else was present at the property at the time of the incident.
Frontline policing commander for North and East London Commander Kyle Gordon said: “My thoughts are with the loved ones of the man who has died, with the local community in Dagenham and the officers involved in this incident.
“While formal identification has yet to take place, officers believe he was aged 40. His next of kin has been informed.
‘They will receive our full support.’
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards was made aware immediately after the incident
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has also been informed and has begun an independent investigation.
