A busy junction has reopened after major roadworks were completed ahead of schedule.

Trafford Council said the £17.6m scheme in Stretford will make the Kingsway and Barton Road junction safer and greener for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.

Kingsway has been completely resurfaced and reduced to two single lanes to improve safety, footpaths have been widened and two new crossing points installed, along with new seating, planting, play areas, trees, lighting and sustainable drainage.

Councillor Liz Patel, Trafford executive member for economy and regeneration, thanked whose who delivered the project a month ahead of schedule and said the junction “already looks fabulous”.
