Brian May has revealed the real reason he was “driven out” of London as he reflected on his years living in the capital while enjoying an anniversary dinner with his wife, Anita Dobson.
The musician lives in Windlesham in the Surrey Heath borough of Surrey and is just 25 miles southwest of central London.
May and his wife Dobson recently made the hour-and-a-half journey to the city to celebrate their 24-year wedding anniversary.
The guitarist posted a sweet snap alongside his wife and penned: “Leaving @ederarestaurantlondon after a completely appropriate evening of food and good feelings.
“This restaurant used to be our local haunt,” May continued before delving into the real reason it’s no longer on their doorstep. “But since we were driven out of the city by the flood that destroyed so much of Anita’s precious memorabilia…
“And our feelings of security, we now drive an hour and a half there and back just to dine with these old friends.
