The Grimace Shake is coming back to McDonald’s this December as part of the fast food chain’s festive menu.

The popular purple beverage attracted a lot of attention on social media during the summer and has left customers excited for its return.

It will only be back for two weeks in the build-up to Christmas, coming to stores on December 11. Customers will be able to snap up a medium Grimace Shake for £2.69 and a large for £2.99.

The drink will feature a QR code on the side of the cup – which is designed in a festive style -directing customers to donate directly to Ronald McDonald’s House Charities. This initiative aims to support families with children in hospital during the festive period.

With the announcement of the drink’s comeback, consumers have been sharing their reactions to the news.

One commenter said: “You better not sell out! We’re waiting for this!” Another wrote: “Tried it yesterday. Loved it. Please keep it on the menu.”

McDonald’s came under fire the last time it removed the milkshake from restaurants.

Customers were left angry and disappointed, with one frustrated commenter saying: “How hard could it be to knock up some more blueberry sauce for the milkshake? You are just creating chaos out of nothing to hide the fact your menu is weak.”
