Simone Biles is considered the greatest of all time in many people’s eyes – and Serena Williams is clearly one of them.

Williams, widely regarded as the best women’s tennis player in history, joined gymnastics icon Biles for an evening of ‘impactful conversation’ at an event hosted by high-end watch brand Audemars Piguet, Vanity Fair and The Female Quotient on Wednesday.

And it’s fair to say that GOAT recognized GOAT on the night.

The 23-time Grand Slam winner labelled Biles as much after sharing a series of photos from the event, which also included snaps with fashion model Winnie Harlow and Vanity Fair editor in chief Radhika Jones.

She wrote as the caption: ‘Yesterday, I sat with the GOAT @simonebiles at AN EVENING OF IMPACTFUL CONVERSATION with @audemarspiguet @vanityfair @femalequotient and a house full of women. I love to see it.’

Biles is the most decorated gymnast of all time after winning 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals during her illustrious career.

Serena Williams labelled Simone Biles the ‘GOAT’ after attending an event with her this week

The 27-year-old recently added four more Olympic medals to her collection at the Paris Games, where she landed three golds and a silver to further cement her status as the greatest in history.

As well as carving out a historic legacy in gymnastics, Biles is also the most marketable athlete on the planet right now, according to a shock new study.

SportsPro and NorthStar Solutions Group recently assessed more than 1,000 stars – from 174 different sports ‘categories’ – who competed between September 1, 2023 and September 1, 2024.

It is the 15th edition of the study, with previous winners including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James.

In 2024, however, the No1 spot went to Biles after her success at this summer’s Olympics, with the top 15 also featuring female athletes from basketball, rugby, swimming and tennis.

However, the Olympics hero falls outside the top five when it comes to the highest-paid female athletes in the world.

On Wednesday, Sportico released their data from this year, calculating totals from salary/winnings and endorsement checks.

Biles further cemented her legacy as the most decorated gymnast ever at the Paris Olympics

American tennis star Coco Gauff topped her fellow competitors. The 20-year-old racked up $9.4million in winnings and $21m in endorsement deals.

Skiing sensation Eileen Gu went second with $22.1m. The next five slots would be occupied by tennis players Iga Swiatek ($21.4m), Zheng Qinwen ($20.6m), Aryna Sabalenka ($17.7m), Naomi Osaka ($15.9m), and Emma Raducanu ($14.7m).

The eighth through tenth slots belonged to Biles, golf superstar Nelly Korda and women’s basketball sensation Caitlin Clark.

Korda earned $14.4m while Biles and Clark earned roughly $11.1m.
