Sarah Ferguson was granted the right to a royal Windsor funeral by the late Queen Elizabeth II, it has emerged.
The late monarch is reported to have permitted a St George’s Chapel Windsor funeral for Fergie, 64, when she dies.
This will be followed by interment at the royal burial ground in nearby Frogmore.
This is adjacent to the mausoleum built as the final resting place for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Frogmore is a mile from the royal vault at St George’s Chapel, where Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II are buried.
Its name derives from the wet, marshy location the estate is built on.
Frogmore Cottage was also the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle before they left the Royal Family and moved to the US.
The only monarch at Sarah’s future royal burial ground is King Edward VIII, who is buried there alongside his wife, Wallis Simpson.

The Royal Family walked from the Sandringham estate to St Mary Magdalene church as they waved at onlookers.
Sarah and Andrew’s last joint appearance on the Norfolk estate was in 1991, where the duchess was photographed behind the late Princess Diana and a young Prince Harry.
This year, they were accompanied by Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.
