The Red Devils finished fourth during the 2024 Super League season, but despite that, they only came 12th in media giant IMG gradings system for next season.

The ratings measure five aspects – on-field performance, finance, community, fandom and stadium.

The club’s financial position comes just two months after Salford City Council announced that they would take full ownership of the Salford Community Stadium, buying the 50% stake owned by The Peel Group.

That came after Salford had agreed a 12-month extension to their stadium lease for the venue they share with Premiership rugby side Sale Sharks.

A row over the eventual takeover of the stadium led to Salford Red Devils claiming in late 2023 that their future was at risk.

Despite those troubles, under head coach Paul Rowley’s stewardship, the club were remarkably consistent on the field and comfortably wrapped up a place in the end-of-season play-offs.
