A royal commentator has slammed Meghan after she told a “laughable” story about her daughter Lillibet.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just wrapped up a tour of Nigeria and their first stop on the trip was a school in the capital of Abuja, which is being supported by the couple’s Archwell Foundation.
Whilst at the school, Meghan opened up about a remarkable conversation she had with Princess Lilibet and used it to connect with the young people.
She told them: “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn three. And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she [goes], ‘Mama, I see me in you.’
“Oh, now she was talking really literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way. And I thought, yes, I do see me in you, and you see me in you.”
She then asserted: “As I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Speaking about the moment on GBN America, Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan said: “Meghan Markle tells this story with a straight face.”
She added: “What is the point of this trip? She spent the whole time talking about herself. It is laughable.”
She also discussed Harry’s behaviour at the same event and slammed the duke for inspecting the Nigerian troops, despite being stripped of his royal titles.
She said: “It is so laughable and further diminishes Harry in the eyes of the royals and the world.

“He is standing at attention as though he still holds his military honours and titles. As if he wasn’t stripped of them when he left.
“As if William had not been given the honour last week by Charles that was due to go to Harry. He’s standing there at attention in plain clothes, reviewing Nigerian troops.
“I mean, it’s it’s laughable. It’s an insult to the Nigerian people.
“These two are of course, playing as though they’re still royals when they’ve spent the past four to five years telling us how terrible it was to be Royals.”
The couple travelled to Nigeria for three days after being invited by the country’s highest-ranking military official, Christopher Musa.
The Sussexes championed their Archewell Foundation’s mental health initiatives for young people and promoted the Invictus Games which Nigeria joined for the first time last year.
Harry visited the UK ahead of the Nigeria trip and attended a ceremony at St Paul’s for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
