Ryan Hampshire played three games last season as Wigan won the Super League title

Half-back Ryan Hampshire has signed a new one-year deal with Wigan Warriors, following his return to the Super League champions in January.

The 28-year-old made three appearances last season having rejoined the club following a knee injury.

He has also played for Castleford, Leigh and hometown Wakefield during a career in which he has scored 50 tries, 156 goals and three drops in 162 games.

“This is the right place for me right now,” Hampshire said.

“Getting to work with these players and under the staff at this club, I am happy to get another opportunity this year playing for Wigan.”

Head coach Matt Peet added: “Ryan has shown an outstanding attitude since his return to the club and even when not selected he was having a positive impact on the group.”
