Rochelle Humes has revealed she received text updates from the producers of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! when her husband Marvin Humes took part in the show last year.
The singer-turned-TV presenter revealed to The Sun that she received special updates from the show team during the former JLS star’s stint in the Australian wilderness.
“I did get a text from the producer every day in the morning, as a courtesy, giving a little synopsis of what’s going to be on that night’s show so I could then decide whether the kids would watch it,” the mum of three said. “She’d also be like, ‘Everything’s fine,’ which was so weird, another woman telling me my husband’s okay!”
While the texts generally revolved around the upcoming episode, Rochelle admitted that she once reached out to the producer to make sure Marvin was wearing sun protection.
“I messaged her one day, like, ‘His head’s peeling. He needs to put sun cream on,’ and she was like, ‘I assure you that he’s got it on,'” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘No, because his head’s never peeled before!'”
Rochelle added, “It’s so weird, you’d never have that conversation with somebody on behalf of your own husband!”
Marvin’s stint on the show marked the longest time the presenters had been apart since they started dating in 2010. Rochelle shared that the break made them realise how much they love each other – but she’s in no hurry to do it again.
“It’s a good way to add a bit of, ‘Oh, my God, I actually did really miss you. I do really love you’ back into your relationship!” she stated. “Not seeing each other’s one thing, but zero contact… I’d never want to do that again.”
The Hit List co-hosts, who got married in 2012, share daughters Alaia-Mai, 11, Valentina, seven, and son Blake, four.
