GMP said officers from its specialist tactical vehicle intercept unit chased Ali’s car as he sped through residential estates, until it struck a kerb.
Ali, from Deeplish Road, Rochdale, fled on foot but was tracked by a police helicopter and found hiding in the back garden of a local house.
Dashboard camera video released by GMP showed part of the pursuit, and further body-worn camera footage showed Ali’s arrest.
He did not resist as he was placed in handcuffs, and was told “unlucky mate” by the officer as he was led away.
