Representing Duchess of Sussex in UK branded a ‘s**t sandwich’ as she ‘refuses to listen’

Representing Meghan Markle in the UK has been branded a “s**t sandwich” as the Sussexes “refuse to listen”, a PR expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 42, is thought to be searching for a UK PR guru to gain more positive publicity in Britain.

It appears that despite being happy in California, the couple want to do more in Prince Harry’s home country.

A senior PR executive said: “This is a s**t sandwich that many senior PR people will not be willing to eat. Many will turn it down.”

They also told The Mail: “Representing the couple in the UK is a tantalising thought but they don’t have a reputation for listening to advice. What would be the point?”

An insider also claimed that the Sussexes could see an opportunity in Britain due to King Charles’s slimmed-down monarchy struggles.

The monarch’s illness and Prince William taking a backseat to support Kate after her abdominal surgery have meant fewer royals are carrying out engagements.

PR specialists may be wary, according to the insider, because they fear that Meghan and Harry will not heed their advice.

They said: “The Royal Family is looking short-staffed and quite elderly.

“The Sussexes have a popularity problem and can see there is an opportunity to step in to fill a vacuum over here with their own work.

“There is also growing noise stateside that Harry would like to carry out duties on behalf of his father again.”

The expert added: “American stars also often expect their PRs to spend their time shouting at people – that’s not going to appeal either in the UK where things are done rather differently.”

Meghan, 42, made a virtual appearance in the UK last month at Mayhew Animal Home.

The Duchess of Sussex, who quit royal duties four years ago, virtually opened a new wing of an animal charity named in honour of her late friend, Oli Juste.

The virtual visit was announced on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s new website, Sussex.com.

The Sussexes’ relaunch in the UK could come as their support is understood to be “dwindling” in the US.

Sharon Osbourne told Gary Goldsmith, Princess Kate’s uncle, on Celebrity Big Brother: “I think everyone is fed up with their moaning.”

Osborne explained that “in the beginning, they were very well received” because Americans love the royals, but now their popularity is “dwindling.”

She also commented that there were “some deals that they have done that haven’t worked well”.
