‘Remainer’ Foreign Office that wants us back in EU claims a Trump victory could cause major security issue

Ministers have been warned that Britain faces “massive” security risks if Donald Trump is re-elected president this year.

This is because it is possible that Trump could end US support for Ukraine and withdraw from the NATO agreement if elected again.

Speaking about this on GBNews, Nigel Farage said: “We have three very senior members of the Foreign Office, and they are Simon McDonald, Sir Peter Westmacott and Lord Kerr.

“These are former ambassadors to America and head of the Foreign Office in the UK, and they’re saying if Trump wins we may face a major security problem.

“The problem could be massive.

“And that’s because Trump will withdraw all support for Ukraine and might leave NATO.

“And they’re getting ready. Lord Kerr says we need to get together discreetly with America’s other allies, France and Germany.

“This is the Remain Foreign Office who will use any excuse they can to try and get us into a European defense union and back into the EU.

“Trump and I sat and talked about NATO. America has more than paid its way.

“It’s just that 25 of the 28 members of the European countries weren’t even bothering to pay the 2% membership fee.

“And what Trump did was to come to Brussels more than once and say stop being delinquents.

“We will stand by you, we will stand with you, but you please start playing fair. But that is our weaselly Foreign Office.”

During his time as President, Trump pushed other countries within the NATO military alliance to contribute more to their defense spending.

The Alliance is founded on the principle of collective defense, meaning that if one NATO ally is attacked, then all NATO allies are attacked and including around 30 countries.

Trump often said that some of the NATO countries were not contributing enough and pointed the finger at Germany who he felt was unlikely to hit the 2 percent target by 2024.

At the moment Trump is ahead in the polls for the US election that will take place this year.
