Reform UK party chairman Zia Yusuf has announced that membership within the party has seen record growth with its best weekend for sign-ups since the party conference in September.

The party is rapidly becoming a force to be reckoned with as they look to be on track to overtake Tory membership within a matter of months.

There are currently 131,660 Conservative members, down from 200,000 in 2021 and 250,000 in 2005.

In the recent Tory leadership election, Badenoch took 53,806 votes out of 95,000 cast in a vote that saw 73 per cent turnout of eligible members.

But these numbers are set to be eclipsed by Reform UK as Nigel Farage continues to entice new members since he took over as leader in June 2024.

When Farage took over, membership stood at 40,000. A month later, he announced the party had reached 65,000 and then just 15 days later on July 21, surged to 70,000.

On August 18, Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf announced the party reached more than 75,000.

A little over a month later, following the party conference on September 23, Nigel Farage announced that 85,000 people had joined Reform’s membership and encouraged the British public to “play their part”.

He said at the time: “Since our conference started, 6,200 people have spent their £25, or in some cases more, to become members of Reform UK.

“We’ve gone through 85,000 members. We’re growing rapidly. There is huge enthusiasm and appetite for something different.

“The party has come of age, so if you agree with us, get on board and help us.”

On October 8, the party announced on X that membership had reached 90,000. Within the month, Farage launched an open call to Conservative Councillors facing re-election next year and invited them to defect to Reform UK.

Following the call, Reform membership surged to 93,000 on October 24.

On Monday morning, Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf then wrote on X: “Reform UK just had its best weekend for new member signups since our party conference in September.”

These figures reveal 53,000 people have become members of Reform since June 2024.

That means Reform are recruiting an average of 387 new members per day, 2,709 per week and 11,777 per month.

On that trajectory, Farage’s party will end 2024 on 114,672 members, and eclipse the Conservatives’ 132,000 by mid February.

Reform UK Chairman, Zia Yusuf said: “Reform UK just had its best weekend for new member signups since our party conference in September.

“Kemi Badenoch’s election is further evidence the Tories haven’t and won’t change. More and more people are waking up to Reform being the only option to save our great county.

“Kemi was elected with the lowest turnout of Tory members on record in a leadership election.

“Reform has all the momentum in British politics, as we close in on 100,000 members.”
