A Reform UK councillor has been expelled from the party after allegations he made comments online saying he wanted to shoot Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Northumberland County Council’s John Allen was first suspended by Nigel Farage’s party, however, he was booted after an internal investigation into his conduct.

The comments were posted by the YouTube account @johnallen7807.

They were brought to light by anti-racism campaign group Hope Not Hate, however, the account has not been verified as belonging to Mr Allen.

A post made by @johnallen7807 said: “I can’t wait to see Srarmer (sic) swinging from a lamp post”.

Another read that “I’d shoot Starmer myself if I had the weapon and opportunity”.

A Reform UK spokesman said that Mr Allen had been expelled for “bringing the party into disrepute after making several unacceptable remarks online”.

Mr Allen will remain on the Hirst ward.

He will be an unaligned member, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

But, Mr Allen resigned from his position at Ashington Town Council.

He was replaced by Reform’s Sonia Sim after a by-election on October 16.

Mr Allen is the third councillor at the county council to be expelled by Mr Farage’s party. GB News has contacted the councillor for comment.

Nicole Brooke and Patrick Lambert were booted earlier this month for breaching party rules as they planned to hold a no-confidence vote in the local leadership.

Reform continues to hold 20 seats on the council.

It remains the official opposition to the Conservatives.

Meanwhile, Reform continues to rise in popularity across the UK.

A bombshell mega-poll has projected that Mr Farage would earn the largest Commons majority in modern political history if a General Election were held last week.

Reform is on course to win 445 seats, Labour would be down to 73 MPs, and the Tories would have just seven seats.

Despite this, Mr Farage previously said that “Reform UK has hit 36% in the polls for the very first time”.

“Our extraordinary journey continues with pace and shows no signs of stopping,” he added.

The seat-by-seat MRP poll was carried out by communications firm PLMR and Electoral Calculus.

MRP – multilevel regression and post-stratification – is considered a more accurate way to predict how many seats each party will win during a General Election.

The Liberal Democrats have been forecast to win 42 seats, while the SNP has 41 and Jeremy Corbyn’s Your Party has 13.

However, the Tories trailed behind with just seven MPs, just ahead of the Greens on six and Plaid Cymru on five.
