• Nate Wiggins is said to be ‘healthy’ and ‘fine’ after the accident
  • He was the 30th overall pick in this year’s draft out of Clemson

Ravens rookie Nate Wiggins was involved in a car accident this week which injured his neck, coach John Harbaugh announced.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Harbaugh shared that the cornerback was ‘fine’ but that he would miss this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders.

‘He’s healthy, he’s fine, but just not gonna be able to play,’ Harbaugh said.

The coach did not share any further details about the accident.

The Ravens will hope to get Wiggins back for their Sunday night matchup at the Cowboys in Week 3.

Notably, this is the fourth car accident that a Ravens player has been involved in of late, as tight end Mark Andrews was in a crash last month on the way to practice, while linebackers Josh Ross and Kyle Van Noy were also involved in motor accidents over the summer.

Harbaugh said after Andrews’ accident that the three-time Pro Bowler had ‘nothing at all, not a scrape’ from the incident.

Andrews said in a statement shared by the team, ‘This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car.’

The tight end (as well as Ross and Van Noy) was fine to suit up for Baltimore’s opener vs. the Chiefs, though he had a quiet game with just two catches for 14 yards.

Wiggins, the 30th overall pick in this year’s draft, had two tackles in the contest.
