Queen Camilla is “thankful someone stood up to Meghan Markle” after her attacks on the Royal Family, a royal author has claimed.
The Queen is said to have thanked broadcaster Piers Morgan after he called the Duchess of Sussex “Princess Pinocchio”, according to Omid Scobie’s new royal book Endgame.
The explosive new book has already been released in Australia and is due to hit UK shelves tomorrow.
Endgame has been described as a self-proclaimed “investigation” into the current state of the British monarchy.

In the synopsis, Scobie talks about “an unpopular King, a power-hungry heir to the throne, a Queen willing to go to dangerous lengths to preserve her image, and a prince forced to start a new life after being betrayed by his own family”.
In one extract of the book, the author claims King Charles’s wife sent a message to Morgan to thank him for “defending The Firm” and “standing up” to Meghan.
This came after the duchess and Prince Harry launched many attacks on the Royal Family during their infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in March 2021.
After the interview, Morgan tweeted that he “wouldn’t believe [Meghan] if she read me a weather report”.

The TV personality also branded her “Princess Pinocchio” while writing for the Mail.
According to Scobie, Camilla would never have addressed the Sussex attacks publicly.
However, she showed “gratitude” to Morgan because “somebody was standing up” to Meghan, the author claimed.
Elsewhere in the book, Scobie wrote about Prince Harry and Prince William’s relationship, saying “absolutely nothing has changed” between the brothers.

An extract says: “I was talking to a source quite early on in the process, and they called Harry a ‘defector’ and said that was William’s view.
“These were two men who once upon a time were firmly aligned in their outlook. One of them had to move on to also protect the crown.”
In another passage, Scobie wrote: “[William] believes Harry and Meghan blindsided the family, even the Queen, with their public complaints and their ‘oh so California’ self-importance (an opinion he has repeatedly voiced in various ways to friends and aides during the past two years).
“Convinced Harry’s been brainwashed by an ‘army of therapists,’ William says he no longer even recognizes his own brother, a source said.”
