Queen Camilla is set to star in a new documentary on domestic violence, it has been confirmed.

The Queen has long championed survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and visited a specialist centre to meet with survivors earlier today.

The programme, which has already begun filming, is being made by production company Love Monday.

During the documentary, Queen Camilla will be followed by a film crew at several events.

The Queen is understood to cover the wide sphere of domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse, subjects she often works with very closely.

Camilla and her work are expected to feature heavily in the upcoming documentary.

The 76-year-old has admitted that domestic abuse is a “gritty” subject that some have previously shied away from, however, she has continued discussing the topic since becoming Queen.

Earlier today, Camilla visited Refuge’s Gaia Centre in South London, a specialist Violence Against Women and Girls service and community hub.

Based in the heart of Lambeth, the refuge centre works to end gender-based violence and support survivors.

The Gaia Centre, which opened in 2012, offers a single point of access for those experiencing violence and abuse.

Every year, it offers more than 1,500 adults and 2,000 children private, nonjudgmental support.

It cares for victims of forced marriage, honour-based violence, sexual assault, domestic abuse, human trafficking, modern slavery, and sexual exploitation.

During the visit, Camilla met privately with survivors of domestic abuse, who shared their personal stories.

The Queen also visited a children’s playroom and heard from specialist staff about how children are supported by the centre.

Refuge is the largest provider of support for women and children in the UK experiencing domestic abuse and gender-based violence.
