What are the interior design trends that will dominate in 2025?
This year saw an influx of contrasting colours, quiet luxury and mixed materials in our homes, and as 2025 approaches, there are a few tweaks we can make to ensure our interiors maintain a contemporary touch.
Whether your home takes after a traditional style or favours a modern theme, implementing the latest trends can keep your interior fresh, current and full of character.
Here are my predictions for the five top interior trends I expect to see dominate in 2025.
Home offices could be transformed into snugs

The office-turned-snug room
After a few years of home offices becoming a staple room in our homes due to the rise of remote working since the pandemic, a lot of us are now returning to the office.
This means that our homes are left with an office that we don’t often use. The result? In 2025, we will see many home offices transitioning into a hybrid room, or scrapping the home office altogether.
I think the combination of the home office and library will be a very popular choice next year.
This design would mean you can still use it as a focus-inducing space for any work you end up doing at home, and you can also lock yourself away for some much-needed no-screen time with your book.
Alternatively, getting rid of the home office altogether and turning it into a snug will be another trend, perfect for cold evenings or your weekend mid-morning coffee and relaxation.
Clays and ceramics
A definite pathway that interior trends are following is one that favours timeless appeal. Ceramics and clays have such an organic core that they give a true rustic feel to a home. For a stylish WC, ceramic tiles are perfect for creating an industrial yet natural finish, really adding a contemporary feel through an ageless style.
For a more quickly achievable look, and more money-friendly, smaller accessories in clay or ceramic materials will really embed this style into your home. From planters to lamps to ornaments, these are the small touches that can transform your home in 2025.
The use of earthy tones
After favouring bright colours this year, 2025 will be all about earthy tones. Consider rich browns and red colours with brown undertones, tied in with warm neutrals, cinnamon oranges and subtle pinks.
Where we all live such hectic lives, finding peace at home is a must, so we can truly relax. With these earthy tones, you can much more easily craft a space that invites a calming atmosphere.
Whether you change up your walls, replace larger pieces of furniture, or replace trinkets and home accessories – which is the perfect option for those of us on a budget – your home will feel totally refreshed with this new colour theme.

Colour drenching
Another trend involving colour in 2025 will be colour drenching. This is the process of covering your walls, ceiling and woodwork in the same colour.
It’s perfect for creating a cocooning space, perhaps in your living room for evenings spent with family relaxing, and using deep, rich tones is the perfect way to enhance the space for a moody, sophisticated feel.
Wallpaper ceilings
For a more unique touch in your home that would create the feeling of being professionally designed, wallpaper ceilings will be a massive hit in 2025.
It can often enhance a room by giving the illusion of having more space, lifting the eye up to see a patterned, colourful ceiling.
You can decide how whacky and creative you want to be, whether you want to softly complement the rest of the room or use the ceiling as a focal point for the decor. This trend will really help your home stand out in 2025.
