Wraps sold in WHSmith have been recalled as a precaution, with customers warned: “do not eat these products”.
This follows an urgent E. coli warning that was shared for food sold in Tesco, Aldi, Asda, Boots, Co-op and more.

The Food Standard Agency (FSA) states: “THIS! is taking the precautionary step of recalling a Chicken and Bacon wrap because of possible contamination with E. coli.

“E. coli has not been detected in the product listed but it is being recalled as a precaution. This product is only sold at WHSmith.”
E. coli is a bacteria found in the bowels and strains like Stec can cause serious illness, becoming fatal in some cases.
The FSA said: “Symptoms caused by STEC organisms include severe diarrhoea (including bloody diarrhoea), abdominal pain, and sometimes haemolytic uremic syndrome, (HUS), a serious condition that can lead to kidney failure and can be fatal.”
A THIS! statement added: “Do not eat these products, instead return them to where you purchased them for a full refund.
“No E. coli has been found in the products listed. We are taking this action as a precaution in case products contain any ingredients contaminated with E. coli, implicated in the recently reported outbreak.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. Consumer safety is our ultimate priority and we are there taking a precautionary approach to keep our consumers safe.”
Customers who have bought the food have been told to “check if you have bought the affected use-by dates” and to “return the product to the store for a full refund (with or without a receipt)”.
The recall is specific to packs sold in England, Scotland and Wales only.
This comes just days after wraps, sandwiches and salads were recalled from various supermarket chains.

The items are not known to contain E. coli, but were also recalled as a precaution amid the outbreak of the illness.
The foods were recalled by manufacturers Greencore Group and Samworth Brothers Manton Wood and sold in Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Aldi and more.
The FSA said: “Greencore Group is taking the precautionary step of recalling various sandwiches, wraps and salads because of possible contamination with E. coli.
“E.coli has not been detected in the products listed but are being recalled as a precaution.”
