A children’s stroller sold online has been recalled as it does not meet safety requirements.
The item has now been removed from sale on the online marketplace Amazon.
The Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) said: “This product presents a serious risk of injuries as it is possible for the restraint system to fail while in use.
“If a child under six months was placed in the stroller, the child may fall from the harness as it does not secure the child correctly.”

The OPSS added: “The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.”
It added, as a corrective measure, “the import has been rejected at the border and destroyed”.
Products can be recalled, withdrawn or destroyed when a safety risk is discovered and OPSS recently warned about another Amazon item.
Amazon and eBay shoppers were warned as three children’s products may be “cancer-causing”, with the manufacturer claiming a chemical used to make the balloons presents a “serious risk”.

The OPSS stated: “The product presents a serious chemical risk because it contains N-nitrosamines at a concentration greater than the maximum permissible.
“Nitrosamines may cause cancer through ingestion or dermal exposure. A child could be exposed to them when touching or putting the product in the mouth.
“The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The product has been recalled from end users.
“Owners should stop using the product immediately and keep them out of the reach of children. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.”
