Princess Eugenie’s three-year-old son August made a rare public appearance at the King’s pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
Royal fans were quick to spot the young royal’s striking resemblance to his second cousin Prince Archie as he arrived with his parents.
August was spotted in the back of his parents’ car as they drove to the Palace, wearing a festive Santa hat.
The young royal’s thick curly auburn hair was notably similar to Prince Archie’s distinctive locks, a feature that has drawn attention from royal fans.

This is not the first time royal watchers have noticed the cousins’ striking similarity.
When Princess Eugenie shared photos announcing the birth of her second son Ernest in May 2023, images of August looking over his baby brother’s cot prompted comparisons to his cousin Archie.
The resemblance was highlighted in the Sussexes’ recently released 2024 Christmas card, which showed Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Both Sussex children have inherited their father’s distinctive red hair, as seen in the image of them running into their parents’ arms.

Harry and Eugenie share a particularly close bond, with the Princess of York featuring in the Sussexes’ Netflix series in 2022.
Princess Eugenie currently divides her time between Portugal and the United Kingdom with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
This year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also acquired a property in Portugal.

Bond said: “Eugenie undoubtedly does have something of a challenge on her hands to maintain good relationships with both Harry and Meghan – and the rest of the Royal Family.
“But I think the King is probably happy that Harry still has at least one royal cousin he clearly trusts, and presumably wants to see more of.
“The family are all so busy that they don’t really see that much of one another.”
She added: “However, I think it’s a positive thing that Charles does have someone he can quietly ask about Harry‘s well-being if he is so inclined and Harry can presumably gauge the mood of the family via Eugenie.”
